TECH ASSISTANT

 

Follows 2023-2024 School Calendar

$14.01 per hour

5.5 hours/day

.6875 FTE

(Final schedule will be established by the Technology Facilitator, based on district and/or building needs.)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma and excellent command of the English Language
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  3. Mechanical aptitude/basic knowledge of computer operation
  4. Experience using Microsoft software, e-mail, and accessing the Internet
  5. Ability to work with minimal supervision, and to accomplish tasks with frequent interruptions
  6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
  7. Valid Michigan Driver’s License and reliable transportation
  8. Must be able to lift 25 pounds and move equipment, ability to climb and work on ladders

JOB GOAL: To assist in the support of voice, video, and data technology.

 

SALARY: $14.01 per hour

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. *Assists in providing basic technical support.
  2. *Performs 1st level desktop, laptop, projectors, interactive white boards, peripheral devices, voice systems, and handheld computer hardware/software troubleshooting.
  3. *Performs 1st level desktop, laptop, peripheral devices, voice systems, and handheld computer hardware/software maintenance (virus updates, software patches, equipment cleaning, hard drive defragmenting, etc.) as directed.
  4. *Performs technical equipment setup as necessary.
  5. *Assists in the administration of student and staff IDs (Microsoft Active Directory).
  6. *Creates and tracks technology work orders.
  7. *Attends technical training sessions per the direction of the District.
  8. Maintains building computer/peripheral inventory.
  9. Assists the Building Technician with the installation/moves/changes of building Technology resources (computers, printers, peripheral devices, etc.)
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.
