Vacancy - Temporary Summer Learning Program Literacy Camp Teacher 

 

Professional, temporary teaching staff needed to teach in the K-2 Summer Literacy Camp. Applications for these temporary positions will be accepted until filled.

 

Teachers will be expected to implement innovative instructional techniques that will lead to improved student achievement. Emphasis will be given to, higher level thinking skills, connecting learning to prior knowledge, cooperative learning, active participation of the learner, and integration of technology. Actual numbers of positions are dependent upon the enrollment.

 

Classrooms will be structured with teachers who will co-plan and co-teach.  In the event of an absence of one co-teacher, the other co-teacher will be responsible for carrying out all regular professional duties without additional compensation. Substitute teachers are not available during this summer programming.  Progress reports will be required to be completed for parents on the last day of the program.

 

LOCATION:  McGregor Elementary

July 8, 2024 - July 11, 2024 (Monday - Thursday)

 

Hours: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

        

Mandatory Staff Meeting: June 27, 2024 8 am - 1 pm

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
  2. Desire to work with at-risk students.
  3. Desire to work with students who need to be academically challenged.
  4. Must be available to wokr the entire length of the program.

 

SALARY:  Stipend $1,250 (partially funed through ESSER 11t grant funds) contingent on all designated working days and it will be adjusted accordingly if all working days are unmet.  $50 per hour x 25 hours

Selection of an individual to fill these temporary positions will be determined by the Summer Learning Program administrators based upon applicant experience, qualifications and professional attributes.
