Title: Director of Caring Steps Children’s Center
Center Hours - 6:00am – 6:00pm
Full-time / 12-month schedule
Year Salary Scale: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00
Position will be hired and employed through Genesee Education Consultant Services, Inc
Staffing for the RCS Caring Steps Children’s Center is contracted through Genesee Education Consultant Services.

Children’s Center Director Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development.
- Knowledge or experience in HighScope Curriculum or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of Michigan Child Care Center Licensing rules.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective in mentoring, overseeing, and organizing Early Childhood Professionals.
- Director will need to be available for all hours of operation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Sensitivity in working with all school community members.
- Able to create a positive, well-organized teaching and learning environment
- Ability to plan and execute the full range of administrative tasks for an Early Childhood Center.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The performance responsibilities listed below represent an overview of responsibilities for this position.
- Provide day-to-day oversight and administrative tasks for Caring Steps Children’s Center.
- Provide professional development training opportunities for early childhood education providers, teachers, and parents.
- Maintain compliance with local/state/federal childcare regulations, state/federal early childhood grants, and licensing accreditation processes.
- Implement and assess High Scope Curriculum and Developmentally Appropriate Practices in order to provide high quality early childhood programs.
- Assist in the implementation of a performance-based system for measuring and assessing skills and knowledge of the early childhood population. Regularly communicate results to district administration and parents.
- Plans staff, departmental and other special meetings.
- Collect and analyze data, regarding the achievement of students and other pertinent information affecting the design and implementation of services and programs, using the information to assessment results with providers and staff.
- Assists in planning and developing the budget, and supervises the expenditures from this budget and all fiscal matters.
- Protect confidentiality the of records and information gained and use discretion in sharing such information within legal confines. Ensure that all personnel and student record keeping procedures comply with State and federal law and district policy.
- Promote and recruit prospective children and families for all programs.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent/Deputy Superintendent.
