Position:             Caring Steps Children’s Center Lead Caregiver

Hours:                 40 hours/week 12-month position

Reports to:          Caring Steps Children’s Center Director

Supervises:         Classroom Assistant Caregiver and/or Caregiver staff

Pay rate:              $15.50 per hour

 

Contracted Position to be hired by GECS - Genesee Education Consultant Services

SELECTION PROCESS:
Selection of an individual to fill this vacancy is determined by the appropriate administrators based upon experience, qualifications, and professional attributes. 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 19 Years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent. CDA or an Associates’ degree in early childhood education or Montessori credential. Bachelors’ degree or higher in early childhood education preferred.
  • Ability to monitor, guide, and oversee assistant staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion, patience, and flexibility.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate use of good judgement.
  • Ability to interact and communicate positively and appropriately.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Be reliable and punctual.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer day-to-day classroom operations.
  • Monitor, guide and oversee classroom staff.
  • Record daily individual student anecdotal notes for parent/guardian for all students.
  • Plan a variety of creative activities and projects that are age appropriate.
  • Complete the required professional development training including CPR/First aid and GCN Training Modules.
  • Comply with all applicable licensing requirements.
  • Work cooperatively with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Be enthusiastic, conscientious and resourceful.
  • Comply with Center and District policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
