QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma (minimum) and an excellent command of the English language.
- Knowledge and working experience with various computer applications, as well as demonstrated basic proficiency with the following Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Understanding and upmost respect for the confidential information that must be maintained within the Elementary Office environment.
- Exceptional customer relations skills; experience working or volunteering in a school office preferred.
- Ability to handle work assignments with constant interruptions.
- Ability to take direction from multiple personnel in support of overall building operation.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Elementary Principal
JOB GOAL: To provide general office assistance to the Elementary Building Principal and secretary and support Elementary Building personnel, students, families and visitors.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Performance responsibilities will vary depending on the specific requirements of a building. The performance responsibilities listed below represent an overview of the responsibilities for this position.
- Prepare documents, file, processes incoming and outgoing mail, answer telephones, and performs other routine office assistance as needed or assigned.
- Provides front office customer service to staff, students and visitors by answering questions, relaying messages, and following through with problem resolution. Supports district security protocols in place for visitor access to the building during school hours.
- Performs daily reporting tasks, including, but not limited to: daily attendance reporting and follow-up, daily lunch count tabulations, etc.
- Supports the Building Principal and Elementary Principal Secretary with any required medical action plan and daily medication administration per the district policies and regulations, including maintaining the medication administration log.
- Assists the Elementary Principal Secretary with orders, inventories, distributes, and maintains all stock supplies for staff and conducts an annual inventory of building equipment.
- Assists the Elementary Principal Secretary with annual student record maintenance, including emergency card updates, CA-60’s and student immunization records, and Medical Action Plans.
- Covers office duties during Elementary Principal Secretary’s lunch and breaks.
- Other duties and responsibilities requested by the Elementary Principal or “Teacher-in-Charge” when the Principal is absent from the building.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Works Modified 10 month schedule
- Hours per day, depending on the building student population and other unique Elementary location needs, will vary between 3, 4 or a maximum of 5 hours/day.
- Wage Schedule: RSPA Classification E
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- An employee working in this assignment will be required to sit for long periods of time and work on a desktop computer.
- Data entry and record search is a large part of the duties of this position and repetitive hand motion will be required.
REQUIRED POSITION TESTS:
Microsoft Office – Current District Version: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Customer Service Phone Skills, Interpersonal/Teamwork Office Skills Assessment, Alpha/ Numeric Filing and Record Locator tests.
